March 2024 update of Power Automate for desktop

We are happy to announce that the March 2024 update of Power Automate for desktop (version 2.42) has been released! You can download the latest release here.

Key features

New features and updates have been added, as described below.

A revamped variable picker and a new function picker are now available

An enhanced variable picker is now available, providing filtering and sorting capabilities that allow for more intuitive selection of variables in the respective actions.

In addition, for Power Fx enabled desktop flows, there’s also a new function picker that allows for scrolling through a list of Power Fx functions, providing a quick overview of the full list of available functions.

IntelliSense capabilities are now available for Power Fx enabled desktop flows

Power Fx enabled desktop flows now offer IntelliSense capabilities, including syntax colorization, real-time suggestions and autocomplete functionality, as well as function signature helpers.

Cloud initiated runs of desktop flows now support minimum execution logs

Minimum execution logs for desktop flows are now also supported for runs initiated via the cloud, via the same registry key that only handled console runs so far.

The Run URL of desktop flows can now include the Windows user to sign in

When running flows via their Run URL, another parameter is now available, so that you can sign in with your current Windows account.

The action ‘Clear cells in Excel worksheet’ has now been introduced

A new Excel action called ‘Clear cells in Excel worksheet’ has now been introduced, allowing users to clear the values of the specified range.
